Sounds like something is going on. What would be the best way to break her from this habit, and make her feel more secure with sleep nighh I’ve recommended this book to several families that I’ve worked with in a professional capacity and recently picked it up again to come up with a plan for helping my own infant sleep. How do I get my son to fall asleep without me holding him? I’m so tired but nothing helps.

Now, to think more about this and work out a structure that actually works for Henry, my three month old. I also found the author to be rather full of herself, which annoyed me. I was already on the right track with a routine, a consistent environment, putting the baby to bed drowsy but awake, and by keeping the baby in her bedroom during middle of the night wakings. It’s frustrating, especially since I have three other children who also need my attention-as well as a mountain of laundry!

Although this book focuses more on how to approach your child’s sleep after the four-month mark less helpful with my two-month-oldI still found it useful and appreciated the author’s reasoned, practical approach. Nothing earth shattering ,indell but definitely a balanced and nurturing approach that is sensitive to how the parent responds and how different babies may respond.
Her deliberate but sensitive approach to sleep and sleep training for families with young children was much needed. When she’s old enough, we’ll establish that bedtime routine that Thrugh emphasizes. Apr 06, Kendra rated it it was amazing.
Would you like to tell slseping about a lower price? Negative sleep associations are anything that would require a parent to assist the baby in falling asleep rocking, nursing, singing, cuddling, etc. Equally, it recognises the vast difference between babies and addresses that directly rather than just saying “all babies are different” before going on to assume the sleeplng thing will work for all of them, like many other books.
That will likely take him to the morning.

The idea of negative and positive sleep associations is helpful. Put her down awake instead of nursing her to sleep. There are so many great blogs.
We started at 11 weeks and while putting himself to sleep within 20 minutes now with very little fussing, 3 weeks later he is still not putting himself back to sleep after the first wake up.
