It’s a lot less asmme when you realize you have to spell out acronyms that aren’t included in this list.
Super common things like USB. To be honest, this is why I just type things out in full. What’s the point of an abbreviation if you need a code book to figure out what it means? Sure, and many of those reasons are, these days like many drafting standards based on the assumption that the drawings or whatever are hand made.
All caps, for example, is intended to reduce the likelyhood of poor handwriting causing legibility problems. Not a problem now – it just makes things more difficult to read.
How is that better than “Abrasive resistant”? I understand where you’re coming from and you do have a valid point. I was simply stating that acronyms were y1.438m into place for a reason, just as i’m sure that some of them are slowly being done y1.438m with as we do away with hand made drafts and shift more into technology based drafts.
